At the last CDAS Members’ Meeting there was a wide ranging presentation by and discussion with Andrew Jackson of the Scottish Government’s Joint Improvement Team on ‘Community Capacity Building, Coproduction & Reshaping Care for Older People’. Andrew also made available a presentation that explains more of the background to their work and the national ‘Reshaping Care Services’ programme.

Councils, NHS Boards and Third Sector and Independent Sector partners were required to prepare and agree Change Plans for shifts in the balance of care from institutional to primary and community settings, by 28 February.

It is clear that this work has important implications for the future need for and provision of community capacity building, and we hope to provide further opportunities to explore these implications
