CDAS has provided a response to the Scottish Government Discussion Paper on Regeneration, , emphasising the importance of capacity building if ‘community-led regeneration’ is to be achieved, and calling for joint working, from Ministerial to local levels. It argues that engagement should not initially or principally focus upon ensuring community representation on decision-making forums linked to regeneration initiatives, Instead it must be based firstly on communities where basic processes of inclusion and solidarity are strengthened, and secondly on building an active and proactive role for them that makes them partners with something to bring to the table.
