A new guide has been launched to support councils in working with local groups to transfer heritage assets to community ownership. The new guidance, ‘Pillars of the community: The transfer of local authority heritage assets’, was produced by English Heritage in partnership with the Development Trusts Association, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the National Trust, the Architectural Heritage Fund and the Prince’s Regeneration Trust. It appears to deal principally with general issues that would be applicable in Scotland.
