Work proceeds to allow the new agency bringing together HMIE and Learning and Teaching Scotland (including its Communities Team) to start work from 1 July.  Dr Bill Maxwell, currently Senior Chief Inspector of Education for Scotland, has been appointed the transitional Chief Executive Officer of the new agency. The agency has previously been referred to as the Scottish Education Quality and Improvement Agency, but we understand that at present no name has been decided.
