On 21st of September YouthLink Scotland hosted the first ever National Youth Work Summit in Edinburgh. Senior representatives from across youth work sector, both voluntary and statutory, come together to debate, discuss and agree the main challenges and opportunities facing the sector. A short communiqué was produced and presented to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, party leaders, MSPs and key civil servants. It calls for recognition of the value for money and preventative spend offered by investing in youth work and suggests a Parliamentary Commission on Youth Work.
