A group of organisations has come together to look at how community health initiatives could be better recognised for the work that they contribute to Scotland’s health improvement. They have devised a Journal of Community Led Health Improvement with examples from 27 organisations across Scotland highlighting the work that they do. They have also developed a draft Manifesto asking Scottish Government to recognise and support the work of community led health organisations. Both the Journal and Manifesto will be launched at CHEX conference on 28 February in Stirling. The Group will also be encouraging a widening of its membership to join them at their next meeting which will take place on Monday 7 March in Glasgow.
If you are interested in joining the Communities for Health Advisory Group, please contact either Emma Balfour of Drumchapel Life at emma@drumchapellife.co.uk or Bobby Sturgeon of Fullarton Community Health House at fchh@dialstart.net.
