Funding for advice services for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK will be slashed by over 60% from April 1st 2011. The UK Borders Agency is cutting its funding for refugee charities, including the Refugee Council. The Scottish Refugee Council is to cut up to 28% of its staff. We understand that its community development work may be particularly hard hit.
