We will not detail the considerable changes to the Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise networks that have been announced. But it is interesting to note that whilst Scottish Enterprise and its network are to lose many of the functions that might bring them into contact with communities – in training and regeneration – Highlands and Islands Enterprise is to retain its long-standing “strengthening communities” remit.
