The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, in consultation with the Scottish Government, has decided not to relicense Lifelong Learning UK in its own right. LLUK is the employer-led sector skills council responsible for the professional development of staff working in the lifelong learning sector, including all forms of community development and Community Learning and Development. Its responsibilities will terminate at 31 March 2011. The future destination of its functions is still the subject of discussions.
