The Values into Practice framework has been produced by a National Development Team to support the implementation of Local Area Co-ordination in Scotland. The Local Area Co-ordination approach promotes the rights of disabled people and people with learning disabilities to live ordinary lives within their local communities in line with the principles of independent living.  Local Area Coordinators work with disabled people and their families, as well as with community groups and organisations. The aim is to build inclusion by supporting people to develop their individual capacity and by working with communities to develop their capacity for inclusion. A document “What is Local Area Co-ordination in Scotland? An Easy Guide” has also been provided.
