The Scottish Government has issued formal instructions to the Big Lottery Fund in Scotland, asking them to take into account four themes when deciding who should benefit from grants from the Dormant Bank Accounts fund:

• Opportunities for children and young people
• Addressing health inequalities through increased activity
• Bridging the gap between older and young people
• Creating community based employment opportunities.

There will be around £3 million to distribute in Scotland which is less than was previously anticipated. The BLF is consulting with key stakeholders during events in October on the needs that could be addressed with this funding and our proposed plans for distributing it.
