The Scottish Community Development Centre has been awarded funding by the Scottish Government to work with local projects in developing community-led approaches to tackling sectarianism. It will work with the Voluntary Action Fund (VAF) which has been awarded funding for similar work, and they will work together to develop key learning and lessons for future practice. Contrary to the impression that may be given by the government press release, this project represents only a tiny fraction of the £3 million a year over the next three years for anti-sectarian work that Minister for Community Safety Roseanna Cunningham announced recently.
