The government in England has announced a further 36 neighbourhoods to try out community planning. The total number of ‘front runners’ taking part is 126. Under the proposals groups will be able to influence and define how they want their local neighbourhoods to look. It also will allow communities to give blanket planning permission to areas where communities want to see homes and business so there will be no need for individual planning submissions. Community Planning is part of the powers being given to communities within the Localism Bill.
