This is one of the ‘Core Modules’ of the Scottish Social Attitudes Survey 2010. Report  Summary.

For example:

  •  55% said their local council was ‘not very’ or ‘not at all good’ at listening to people’s views before taking decisions, compared with 37% who said they were ‘very’ or ‘quite good’. However, 54% felt their council would take at least some notice of local people’s views on any plans to change care services for older people.
  • There has been a large increase (from 44% in 2007 to 74% in 2010) in the proportion who would support charities and not-for-profit organisations providing personal care for older people.
