An Audit Scotland report looks at The role of community planning partnerships in economic development. This follows a previous overall audit report on CPPs, published in 2006, which highlighted a number of areas for improvement, including the need for: better performance reporting; a better understanding of the cost of delivering on their priorities; and the need to break down barriers to effective partnership working. In this area of activity, the report finds several improvements that need to be made, for example, there is little evidence of joint financial planning by local bodies or a detailed understanding of the costs of delivering local economic outcomes.
