This half day masterclass is presented for CDAS by Alan Budge of PB Partners, who has wide experience of promoting Participatory Budgeting (PB) in Scotland and across the UK. It will provide an overview of PB, with the aims of:
– Increasing participant’s knowledge of PB, including experiences in Scotland to date
– Explaining the difference between ‘participatory small grants’ and ‘mainstream’ models of PB
– Exploring the role of community organising and good community development principles within PB.
It will be suitable for both those considering PB for the first time, or looking to extend their existing knowledge.
It takes place from 1pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday, 7 February 2017 at The Studio, 67 Hope St, Glasgow G2 6AE (an 8th floor fully accessible venue). Attendance is free, but booking is essential and places are limited,with only one person from each organisation please, unless there are special circumstances. Please note that no lunch will be provided, only light refreshments.
